THE BURIED LIFE: 20 Things I Should Have Known at 20.
1. The world is trying to keep you stupid. From bank fees to interest rates to miracle diets, people who are not educated are easier to get money from and easier to lead. Educate yourself as much as possible for wealth, independence, and happiness.
2. Do not have faith in institutions to…

Waiting… on Flickr.
So I have a lot to say that goes a long with this photo. I will add a link to a second photo as well, or maybe I’ll delay it a day or two…. But for now, here’s a time exposure I did tonight. I’m really proud of how well I’m doing with shooting on manual. I feel like its good for me to start doing so, and I might try and leave it on M for a while as a learning experience. This is a 10 second exposure at F/8, ISO 200. I loved the clouds in the scene, but I wanted to have some stuff in the foreground for some contrast and stuff. I love the streak in the lower right too, from a car passing by.
I also took this shot with a film camera, which I’m filling up for a friend who doesn’t know how to use it properly (its a Canon Rebel S). I hope those turn out, but I need to fill it up first, and I want to get all unique shots. I am going to buy a newish canon film camera in the next day or two as well, as I think it will re-enforce the fact that I hate editing photos, and want to be able to have a finalized photo right out of the camera. It will force me to try harder to make good photos, and I think will improve my photography skills significantly. We’ll see how it works out, but I am excited for it.

Mess? No, it’s Clutter on Flickr.
I think this is a decent photo to highlight the awesome macro power of my Nikon s8000. The shuffle here is actually really tiny, only about an inch wide. I was able to get pretty damn close to take this picture, but ran into issues with shadows from the camera in the shot. I was still able to do pretty well with it though. it is silver, but I applied B&W to the photo because the red camera was reflected in the ipod. I think the shot turned out well though.
Via Flickr:
I got a new iPod shuffle last week, and Apple engraves new products for free, so this is what I got! Clutter is my last name, and I wanted to do something that ran along with it. I really am not a messy person, but I still like this phrase. That’s where I got my Blip page title too. I credit my sister for helping me think of it. It goes off of one I though of, but it was too long to fit on the tiny shuffle (only about an inch wide, the letters are tiny!).

I wanted to go out in search of some cool action shots somewhere, but I couldn’t motivate myself to get ready and do it. I also couldn’t think of a good place to go. I might head to the beach tomorrow and see what I can find. Maybe surfers or something of that nature for some good shots. We’ll see what happens.
I really like this one for its depth of field and sharpness though. My favorite part is that shoot off to the bottom right. The Flower itself was really cool, but the camera didn’t pick up the dynamic range that I could see through the viewfinder. I still like the shot though. Definitely a good one for today.

I’ll edit this description later (maybe). But I really like the way this picture turned out. This is the first shot I’ve taken with my 50mm F/1.8 where I can actually see some cool bokeh! I love the background I got with this lens, the narrow depth of field, and the sharpness of the subject. I’m really excited for the new stuff I can accomplish with this lens!
This guy was really good too, it was crazy watching some of the tricks he did. The pictures really don’t do justice for a trick where he flips the scooter around 3 times while doing a backflip, ya know! and 3.5 frames per second can’t capture anything nearly that fast to really see the trick. But I definitely want to get out to this skate park again in the near future to get some cool shots. I am really please with what I have so far.

So I decided to start a blog. Obviously, since you are reading it currently. I’m not completely sure what it will be for quite yet, but I’m leaning toward photography, which side notes on my life and anything else I feel like writing about at the time.
Quick about me: I’m 21, currently a student at the University of Arizona in the College of Optical Sciences. No I will not make glasses, I will deal with much more complicated optics than that. I’m getting into photography a lot, and am using a Canon XSi along with a Nikon s8000 to take way too many photos for my computer to deal with. I’m in a relationship, I love my girlfriend, and life is going pretty good lately. More about me later though.
I think this is a good post to start with for a couple of reasons, the first being that its a picture of me! Currently I am lacking in the sideburns, but they may make a comeback at some point. This photo also is a link to my Flickr page, which I have gotten involved a lot in over the past few months. I’ll probably use it a lot side by side with this blog to discuss different aspects of new and old pictures that I post there. We’ll see if this remains the goal for this blog, but for now it will do. I’m hoping that maybe I’ll get some followers, maybe aspiring photographers and the like, who will reply and partake in my posts. It definitely would be beneficial for me to have some feedback on anything I post here, so you are welcome to reply. Enjoy my blog!
